Understand what I've already understood: everything is just a game. Play it; but don't forget it's a game. You will enjoy it, find it interesting and it won't obligate you. And most of all you shouldn't be agitated! A Portrait of My Double (1966) Georgi Markov

'A Portrait of my double' (1966), a novel by Bulgarian writer Georgi Markov, describes a poker game ending up with the defraud of the fraud. The novel, not only to be seen as a psychological study of pathological gambling addiction, also functions as a metaphor of playing the game of life, a model of concrete social reality, and the eternal drama of life as an illusion, a fight between the good and evil and the esperance on winnings that concludes in a debacle.

An important aspect of the concept of the Situationist International (1957-1972) was the construction of situations as a mean of counteracting the 'Spectacle' as a critique of advanced capitalism; moments of life deliberately constructed for the purpose of tracing authentic desires, experiencing the feeling of life and adventure, and a liberation of everyday life.

The ‘Theory of the Dérive’ by french situationist Guy Debord, describes a rapid passage through varied ambiences such as landscapes or cities. In difference to flaneuring, a dérive is based on a playful, constructed approach and the awareness of a psycho geographical effect given by the architecture and infrastructure of a city, pushing the individual to move, act or even live in a certain manner. The situationists created situations in which they tried to free themselves from their personal circumstances. In the context of the dérive this means e.g. using a random generator such as a dice to explore a city or even using maps from a different city to 'orientate'.

Within 'Organization of Territory', Prutsch performs a dérive in Sofia, therefore playing with the aspect of synergy between the city and the artist. Within the performance 'The Game' a dérive is then brought into the Gallery Space. By using a handmade dice out of poker cards, found in an abandoned cellar in Vienna, Prutsch drifts in the Gallery, reading sentences of Markov's 'Portrait of my Double' whenever there is a reason given by the dice and the previously defined rules.
